He said, “It means a lot, because the last time, we said we wanted to come back strong. We are known for that and there was a lot at stake. You won’t always win games and a lot didn’t go our way last time, and it’s important not to make excuses and we have done that this year.”

Meanwhile, CSK head coach Stephen Fleming lauded Bravo for his controlled bowling at the death. “Really proud of how we finished, I think we won the last four games. In the first half of the tournament a number of things went wrong, and confidence was low but the way we finished gave us confidence. Even if it was a bad year we were one good win to make it to the SF,” he added.

In this match, Dhoni completed his 100th catch for CSK and became the first player to reach the landmark of 100 catches for a T20 franchise.
