Dinesh Karthik opens with a six in the final over, needing seven runs. Russell delivers a short delivery, and Karthik pulls it out for a maximum. He then hits the second delivery for a four-run home run, and that’s the end of it. With four balls to spare, RCB completes the 129-run chase.

Tension in the middle between RCB and KKR

When Venkatesh Iyer comes in to deliver his first over, Harshal Patel hits two boundaries. The over yields ten runs. Meanwhile, in the middle, there was a massive mix-up that could have resulted in a wicket for KKR, but the throw was on the wrong end with no fielders backing up. RCB: 122/7 RCB: 122/7 RCB: 122/7 (19 overs).

In the powerplay overs, KKR lost Venkatesh Iyer (14), Ajinkya Rahane (10), and Nitish Rana (10) to a terrible start. Shreyas Iyer, who was removed on the 13th, did not do any better (10). Andre Russell did light up the stadium with some huge sixes, but he only managed to score 25 runs off 18 balls. In response, RCB got off to a rough start, losing three wickets in the powerplay overs to Umesh Yadav and Tim Southee. After that, David Willey and Sherfane Rutherford formed a key partnership, while Shahbaz Ahmed added a crucial 27 off 20 balls.
