He is suffering from a hip injury and according to sources, he has returned home to Sydney. And start recovery which is considered a minor problem and is expected to be fit in time for Australia’s tour of Sri Lanka next month.

 

In this season of IPL Cummins joined the team late and before this, he was on a Pakistan tour after coming from Pakistan then he joined the IPL. Cummins only played five games for Kolkata Knight Riders during the IPL season, but it was enough time for him to score the tournament’s joint-fastest fifty. He also took seven wickets in his last game against the Mumbai Indians, including three for 22 during his last match against Mumbai Indians.

 

But with Knight Riders looking unlikely to progress beyond the group stage, and Australia facing a very hectic year that includes a T20 World Cup title defence in October, Cummins has decided to step back and get his body rest for some days. The 29-year-old has already been rested during the Sri Lanka tour’s T20I leg. But given his status as Test captain and new-ball bowler across formats, he is likely to be heavily involved in the team’s other assignments also, namely a five-Test home summer, a Test tour of India, and an Ashes campaign in England.

 

In the last days of may, the Australian team will go on a Sri Lanka tour for approximately 6 months. Their Australian team has to play 3 T20, 5 one day and 2 test series. Cummins recovery is expected to take 2 weeks to heal. The Knight Riders have not requested a replacement with two games remaining in the IPL.
