After a thrilling face-off, Gujarat Titans defeats SunRisers Hyderabad By 5 Wickets

In the 40th game of the Indian Premier League of season 2022, Gujarat Titans edged past SunRisers Hyderabad and recorded a win by five wickets at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Wednesday. The grandstand partnership of  Rahul Tewatia and Rashid Khan finished the game in style. It was a breathtaking match for Gujarat Titans against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Gujarat Titans had overtaken the target of 196 runs in 20 overs with five wickets left to climb back to the top of the tournament. In the final over, GT required 23 runs to win off the game, however, Tewatia and Rashid scored 25 runs. Meanwhile, Gujarat chased the target of 199 runs in 20 overs and crossed the target posted by Sunrisers. Umran Malik was in splendid form for SRH and took a five-wicket haul.

In Earlier games, Abhishek Sharma and Aiden Markram recorded half-centuries as Sunrisers Hyderabad posted 195runs with 6 wickets in 20 overs. In the innings of Kane Williamson and Rahul Tripathi After losing, Sharma and Markram repaired a 96-run stand for the 3rd wicket. Sunrisers top scorer with 65 runs off 42 deliveries while Markram subscribed with a 40-ball 56. Shashank Singh played a quick lead in the final over, scoring 3 sixes in a row as the Sunrisers posted a 196-run target for the Gujarat Titans.

Gujarat skipper Hardik Pandya won the toss and decided to bowl. Sunrisers had Washington and Sundar guarded in place of Jagadeesha Suchith. The over began with Rahul Tewatia blazing the first delivery from Marco Jansen over midwicket for a six before a single escort Rashid Khan on strike. Rashid used his potential to hit one over the bowler’s head for a maximum. And then he missed the delivery before cutting the next over to cover for another maximum.
