For the Punjab Assembly elections, the Samyukta Samaj Morcha will not form an alliance with the AAP. We have constituted a committee to look into several facets of the alliance with (farmer leader) Gurnam Singh Chaduni’s party: Morcha president Balbir Singh Rajewal. On February 14, the state will vote, and the results will be counted on March 10.

“Many are dreaming of Lord Krishna, but we know very well what their goals are,” Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath remarked at a News18 ‘Agenda UP’ event on Sunday. We were able to bring large-scale development to UP under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership.” Prime Minister Narendra Modi is “loved of roaming on the road,” according to BKU leader Rakesh Tikait, who also claims that farmers in Punjab did not obstruct the PM’s convoy. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has added five additional candidates to its list of candidates for the Punjab Assembly elections. Akhilesh Yadav, the leader of the Samajwadi Party, has slammed the BJP-led national government for removing the ‘Z’ category for various political heavyweights. “The PM’s protection is security,” Yadav said at the ‘News18 Agenda UP’ event, “but they eliminated the security of many others.” Why? Isn’t their safety crucial?”

Meanwhile, Union Minister Anurag Thakur has stated that there is no gunda raj in Uttar Pradesh under Yogi Adityanath’s leadership. Earlier in the day, Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi reacted angrily to the BJP’s claims that PM Modi’s security had been breached, saying that there were 6,000 security people on the ground and that there was no security concern. “I am tired of asking, what security danger was there PM Ji?” Punjab CM Channi remarked. There were no protestors within 1 mile of the Prime Minister, who was protected by 6000 security men, IB, and SPG. What kind of threat may there be?”

Meanwhile, Goa Congress head Girish Chodankar declared on Saturday that his party will win the state’s Assembly elections on February 14. He claimed that party members and the general public were keen to get rid of the state’s divisive and corrupt BJP government. Chodankar said the ruling BJP should not bend the rules as it did during the Zilla Panchayat elections, in which the Congress was defeated. On Saturday, the EC issued the election schedule and stated that, to the degree practicable, at least one polling station in each assembly seat in the five states will be supervised only by women. According to the Election Commission, as part of its firm commitment to gender equality and greater constructive participation of women in the electoral process, at least one polling station managed exclusively by women will be established in each assembly constituency in Goa, Manipur, Punjab, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh, to the extent possible. All election officials, including police and security officers, will be women in these polling stations.

The commission stated that before getting the results from control units on March 10, seals are inspected and unique serial numbers of these are tallied before counting agents delegated by candidates.
