“His Excellency the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif Al Alsheikh directed the preachers of mosques and mosques that temporarily held Friday prayer to allocate the next Friday sermon 5/6/1443 H to warn against (the Tablighi and Da’wah group) known as (Al Ahbab),” Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Islamic Affairs tweeted. Minister Dr. Abdullatif Al Al-Sheikh also ordered that the proclamation include a statement about the group’s “misguidance, deviation, and danger,” as well as a statement that it is one of the “gates of terrorism, even if they pretend otherwise.”It should also clarify that their “most egregious errors” are a “threat to society,” and that “affiliation with partisan groups, including (the Tablighi and Da’wah Group), is illegal in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.” Tablighi Jamaat is a multinational Sunni Islamic missionary movement that focuses on exhorting Muslims to follow the pure form of Sunni Islam and encouraging other members to do so.
