Veteran Actor Ramesh Deo passed away

Ramesh Deo who was known for playing a variety of roles in Marathi and Hindi movies, passed away on Tuesday evening in Mumbai’s Kokilaben Ambani Hospital due to a heart attack at the age of 93.
 His son Ajinkya said, “My father was not keeping well for the last few days. He was experiencing breathlessness on Wednesday morning. So, we admitted him to the hospital and he passed away in the evening due to a heart attack.’’

 The multi-faceted film personality Ramesh Deo has acted in over 450 Hindi and Marathi feature films. After his three Hindi films as a lead actor didn’t work at the box office, he gained massive popularity as a supporting actor.
He made his film debut with Rajshri Productions’ Aarti (1962). Then , he would also be a part of several Hindi movies, including Jeevan Mrityu, Khilona, Mere Apne, Mr India, Gharana, and Ghayal. More recently, he appeared as the kind-hearted Kaul Sahab in Jolly LLB, and  also reprises his role in Ghayal Once Again. In his 80s, he turned into a producer, and directed about 8 Marathi movies, and his company was also known for making many successful ad films.
Ajit Pawar said, “Many generations of Marathi art lovers enjoyed his screen performances. His chemistry with Seema Deo – on-screen and in real life – was a model for Marathi family life. His demise is a big loss to the Marathi art world.”
