PM Modi will interact with Front line workers in Varanasi Today regarding Covid-19

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will communicate digitally with doctors, nurses, paramedics, and other front-line workers in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, at 11 a.m. on Friday.

On Thursday, Prime Minister Modi said on his Twitter account, “At 11 AM tomorrow, 21st May, will be interacting with doctors and frontline workers who are working tirelessly to contain COVID-19 in Kashi.”

According to a government announcement, he will also assess the city’s coronavirus disease (Covid-19) status and inspect the operations of several Covid-19 facilities, including the Pandit Rajan Mishra Covid Hospital, which was recently established through the joint efforts of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Indian Army.

He would also review the situation at Varanasi’s non-Covid-19 hospitals.

On Thursday, the state of Uttar Pradesh reported 238 additional deaths and 6,725 new cases, bringing the total number of active Covid-19 cases to 18,590 and the overall number of infections to 16,51,532.

“TThe recovery rate of the state is improving. It is now 91.8 per cent. The active cases in the state in the past 20 days have come down by 62.5 per cent,  “Amit Mohan Prasad, the additional chief secretary said. He noted that there were 3,10,783 active Covid-19 cases on April 30 and that the number has since dropped to 1,16,434.

Meanwhile, the Union health ministry reported 276,110 new instances of the disease in India on Thursday. The overall number of people infected with Covid-19 in the country is now 25,772,440, with 287,122 people dying.
