Active Coronavirus Cases in India COVID-19 New Variant Omicron Latest News 7 December 2021: COVID-19 New Variant Omicron .Following the detection of over 20 cases of the Omicron type of coronavirus in India, several states have increased vaccination, surveillance, and containment efforts.

On Monday, two instances of the Covid-19 Omicron variant were reported in Mumbai, bringing the total number of cases of the new coronavirus variation in India to 23. Two of the earliest cases were recorded in Karnataka, with one in Gujarat and another in Maharashtra following. Later on Sunday, seven instances in Maharashtra’s Pune area were reported, six of which belonged to the same family. In the 24 hours leading up to 8 a.m. Tuesday, India registered 6,822 new covid-19 cases and 200 deaths. In addition, this is the lowest single-day jump in over 18 months. On Monday, there were 95,014, the lowest number of active cases in 554 days, and almost 10,000 people had their cases closed.

Several states have increased vaccination, surveillance, and containment efforts in response to the rising number of infections. After customers complained of congestion and crowding at DIAL’s terminal following the adoption of new coronavirus-related travel guidelines, Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia urged DIAL to deploy stronger crowd management strategies on Monday. Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, asked the public not to panic and to follow Covid’s guidelines. 

Meanwhile, in the wake of the Omicron variety, the Tamil Nadu government has taken preventative steps, including door-to-door immunization. Basavaraj Bommai, the Chief Minister of Karnataka, stated that the state is completely prepared to manage the new version. Ajit Pawar, Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister, said on Monday that a national decision on whether a booster dosage of the vaccine is needed to combat the pandemic is needed. “The Centre, too, should take a firm stance on patients arriving from other countries in diverse states. At our international airports, strict adherence to standards must be enforced,” he continued.
