President Ram Nath Kovind addressed people around the country on the eve of Ganesh Chaturthi to honour the festive event. In his message, Kovind mentioned the fortunate event that commemorates Lord Ganesha’s birth anniversary, which is associated with good fortune, wealth, and knowledge. He also expressed his feelings on the occasion, saying that it is a festival that is usually celebrated with joy and zeal.

People should follow COVID-19 proper principles while commemorating the day in a peaceful way, according to Kovind.

Extending his greetings and best wishes to all fellow citizens in India and abroad, the President said that “on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, this year, let us pray to Lord Ganesha to make our efforts against the COVID-19 pandemic successful and bestow happiness and peace on all of us.”.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also wished the country, asking Lord Ganesh to bring “happiness, peace, good fortune and health” to everyone.

Ganesh Chaturthi is regarded as one of Hinduism’s most auspicious celebrations. This popular festival will begin today, September 10th, and will last for ten days across Maharashtra, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Goa, Karnataka, Gujarat, and Uttar Pradesh. Among the several festivals, this one is celebrated with much fanfare. It will be over on September 21st this year.

Due to the ongoing epidemic, many large-scale celebrations in the country have been cancelled this year; nevertheless, devotees can still complete their responsibilities or celebrate at their homes.

Puja timings

On September 10, the Chaturthi tithi will run from 12:17 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. In the meantime, the Puja vidhi will begin at 11:03 a.m. and will last until 1:33 p.m.

Devotees all around the world worship and pray to Lord Ganesh during this festival, believing that worshipping him will erase all obstacles in life and provide peace and wealth in the future.
