Covid Live Updates: According to a health ministry update released on Friday, India recorded 40,120 new COVID-19 cases and 585 deaths in the last 24 hours. According to them, India’s active caseload is at 3,85,227, which represents 1.20 percent of all cases and is the lowest since March 2020.
In the last 24 hours, 42,295 patients have recovered across the country, bringing the overall number of recoveries to 3,13,02,345. So far, 52.95 crore vaccine doses have been administered as part of the National Vaccination Drive, with 57,31,574 doses administered in the last 24 hours. India recorded 41,195 new illnesses and 490 new deaths yesterday.
According to PTI, the number of coronavirus cases in Maharashtra’s Thane district has grown by 233 to 5,47,641. He said the cases were reported on Thursday. The death toll in the district soared to 11,161 after the illness claimed the lives of 11 people during the day. At the moment, Thane’s COVID-19 mortality rate is 2.03 percent, he added. The infection count in adjacent Palghar has risen to 1,33,883, with 3,226 deaths, according to another official.
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) informed the Bombay High Court on Thursday through an affidavit in response to a petition filed in the Bombay High Court in the matter of a door-to-door vaccination drive for bed-ridden people. Of the 4,889 people who registered for the campaign, 1,317 were vaccinated as of August 9.
The Delta Plus strain has claimed its first victim in Mumbai, with a 63-year-old woman in Ghatkopar succumbing to it in July. This is the second death linked to the Delta Plus variation in Maharashtra. The first was an 80-year-old Ratnagiri woman who died on June 13. Delta Plus is a mutation of Sars-highly CoV-2’s transmissible Delta form (B.1.617).
