Dinesh Karthik significantly improves T20I ranks following their performance against South Africa

In the ICC T20 rankings for hitters, veteran Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik has advanced an astounding 108 ranks. After playing his first international series in three years when India hosted South Africa, Karthik, who has found fresh life as a finisher, is now placed 87th. Ishan Kishan, the first batsman for India, is still the sole batter in the top 10. With two half-centuries against South Africa to round up the series, Kishan led all scorers with 206 runs at an average of 41. The left-hander moved up one spot to sixth in the most recent T20 batting rankings thanks to his recent performance.

Since the 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL), when Karthik was one of the outstanding performers thanks to his explosive knocks for Royal Challengers Bangalore down in the order, he has been in fantastic form. After hitting 55 off 27 balls in the fourth T20I, which was essential to India winning the game and tying the series, he was named player of the match.

The T20 batting rankings are still led by Pakistani skipper Babar Azam.

Yuzvendra Chahal, an Indian spinner, made the highest jump among bowlers, moving up three spots to 23rd as a result of his six wickets during the South Africa series.

Josh Hazlewood continues to hold the top spot among T20 bowlers, while Wanindu Hasaranga of Sri Lanka and Rashid Khan of Afghanistan both move up one spot within the top 10.

With 385 rating points, Ravindra Jadeja continues to hold the top spot among Test all-rounders. He is now in the UK for India’s forthcoming Test match against England, a continuation of the five-match series from the previous year that was interrupted by a COVID-19 epidemic. In the Test batting rankings, former India captain Virat Kohli (742) remained in tenth place, while veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin (850) and speed king Jasprit Bumrah (830) held down the second and third spots, respectively.

With 901 rating points, Australian quick Pat Cummins is ranked first among Test bowlers.
