India vs South Africa T20I – Will India shine in this series

India and South Africa will lock the horns on 9 June 2022 in Delhi at Arun Jaitley stadium, Feroz Shah Kotla ground for their five-match T20I series. The Indian team is led by KL Rahul and will reach the capital by 5th June 2022. The South African team will come to Delhi on 2th June. 

The selectors have announced the squad and venues for the five-match series. In order to give rest to outstanding cricketers Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, selectors have chosen  KL Rahul as captain and Rishabh Pant will be his deputy. Other than them, the Indian side will include Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ishan Kishan, Deepak Hooda, Shreyas Iyer, Dinesh Karthik (wk), Hardik Pandya, Venkatesh Iyer, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, Ravi Bishnoi, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel, Avesh Khan, Arshdeep Singh, Umran Malik.

The decision to retain Umran Malik and Arshdeep Singh in the T20I squad has given the opportunity based on their successful performance in the IPL tournament. Arshdeep Singh said, “I am grateful after being picked.”

The Proteas squad will have Temba Bavuma (C), Quinton de Kock, Reeza Hendricks, Heinrich Klaasen, Keshav Maharaj, Aiden Markram, David Miller, Lungi Ngidi, Anrich Nortje, Wayne Parnell, Dwaine Pretorius, Kagiso Rabada, Tabraiz Shamsi, Tristan Stubbs, Rassie van der Dussen and Marco Jansen.

Talking about the schedule of the match: The first match between the two will be played on June 9 in Delhi, the second match will be played on June 12 in Cuttack, and the third game will be held in Visakhapatnam. The fourth and fifth matches will be played on June 17 and 19 at Rajkot and Bengaluru respectively. 

KL Rahul in the IPL has played exceptionally and is in brilliant form. In the tournament, he has slammed 616 runs to finish as the second-highest run-getter. He has also made 2 centuries and 4 fifties in the tournament. 

Rishabh Pant although hasn’t played well in the tournament but still smashed 340 runs in 13 innings at an average of 30.91. Pant made 60 runs in 2 games which he previously played against West Indies in the T20I series.
