- Sela Pass
Sela Pass is such a charmer. The hilly region is surrounded by many magnificent lakes that enhance the beauty of the place. It is located on the border between the district of Tawang and the West Kameng district. It is very well known as a Buddhist city. It is usually snow-covered throughout the year which makes it a perfect summer holiday destination. It is usually open throughout the year unless landslides or snow require temporary closure of the pass. Sela Pass in summer doesn’t have freezing weather that one cannot bear. It has a nice cold heavenly climate that will definitely make one fall in love with the place even more.
- Roing
Roing is located in the Lower Dibang Valley District in the easternmost part of Arunachal Pradesh. The beautiful mountains, eye-soothing waterfalls, numerous archaeological sites, impressive lakes, lush green valleys, and above all the heavenly climate make it one of the top places to visit this summer. Notable tourist attractions are Mehao wildlife sanctuary, Sally lake, Mehao lake, Mayodia pass, and Bhismaknagar Fort are must-visits.
- Bomdila
Bomdila is the headquarters of the West Kameng District. It is known for its beautiful natural surroundings along with its Buddhist monasteries and apple orchids. It also has numerous trekking trails that attract adventure seekers. The main attraction for the tourists here is Bomdila Monastery, Bomdila View Point, Craft Center, and Ethnographic Museum, apple orchards, RR Hills and Gentse Gaden Rabgyel Ling (GRL) Monastery. Various snow-clad peaks are present including the Kangto and Gorichen which are the highest peak in the state. The true joy of nature and beautiful climate make it a good tourist place. It is also known as a photographer’s delight because of its beauty.
- Nuranang Falls
Nuranang falls is located deep in the forest of Tawang, and is around 2 kilometers away from the town of Jang on the road connecting Tawang and Bomdila, so it is also known as the Jang Falls. It is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the northeastern part of India. The relatively undiscovered Nuranang falls and their surrounding location will enthrall the senses. It became famous after featuring in the Bollywood movie Koyla starring Shah Rukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit. Not only it’s a spectacular attraction in Arunachal Pradesh, but also it is used to generate electricity for local use. There is a small hydel plant located near the base that generates electricity.
- Glow Lake
Glow lake under the Wakro circle of the Lohit district of Arunachal Pradesh is a beauty beyond imagination. Situated on the northern side of Wakro Town, the place has a majestic and serene lake surrounded by around 2.5 hectares of area. A wooden watchtower and a kuchcha bamboo hut are beautifully constructed near the lake. It is one of the best places for the people who prefer to travel away from the busy areas. The lake is accessible only by trekking. Apart from Glow Lake, one can also visit the Parshuram Kund which is located nearby.
