It is not easy to speak up about your diseases. They might bring you judgments and trolls but some B-Town celebrities have openly talked about their disease. These famous personalities have shared their struggles and have inspired people to be confident and not to shy away from anything.

Here are some famous names of fearless ladies who conquered their battle against the disease.

 

  1. Tahira Kashyap-

Tahira Kashyap, a cancer survivor, was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2018. Post her diagnosis, she shared the news online. Stating that she had been diagnosed with DCIS (Ductal Carcinoma In Situ) in her right breast with high-grade malignant cells. Tahira is an inspiration in more ways than one. Wife of actor Ayushman Khurana, she is a director and author, who enjoys a tremendous fan following on social media. Tahira has even written books like 7 sins of being a mother, The courage to be disliked, and many more.   

           

  1. Sonali Bendre-

The actress was diagnosed with metastatic cancer in July 2018. She has been vocal about her struggles with the disease on social media. Sharing a video featuring her loved ones, she wrote in a post, ‘’They are not ‘just’ people fighting cancer….they are much more. She flew to America for treatment, Sonali fought a brave battle with the disease and was later declared cancer-free.  Apart from this, 47-year-old Sonali has 3.2Million followers on Instagram.

 

  1. Anushka Sharma-

The stunning actress took to Twitter and talked about the need to normalise anxiety and other mental health conditions. The “Jab Harry Met Sejal” actress shared a quote titled Depression, which said, “Depression is a prison where you are both the suffering prisoner and the cruel jailer.’’ She also spoke at length about how she wants to completely erase the shame related to anxiety and depression.  Anushka Sharma started her Bollywood career with the movie “Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi” in 2008 with superstar SRK.

 

  1. Deepika Padukone-

Bollywood beauty Deepika Padukone spoke about her depression period in an honest conversation with the media. Bollywood’s Mastani was really candid about her struggles and the counselling she took to battle the ‘D’ lettered demon. The actress has turned her very private and painful fight with depression into an opportunity to remove the stigma attached to depression and anxiety. The last movie in which Deepika is seen is ‘Gehraiyaan’ which was released on 11 February 2022.

 

  1. Ileana D’ Cruz-

The actress has always been very open about her struggle with depression and Body Dysmorphic Disorder. She was also brave enough to talk about how Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) made her feel suicidal. The Rustom actress wanted to raise awareness about the fact that mental illness needs help and treatment, just like any other health condition.  Apart from this Ileana is always staying active on social media platforms like Instagram. On Instagram, she has 14.2Million followers and approx 1,291 posts.
