Even after infected with Covid, Punjab could not scare off Delhi’s enthusiasm

In 32 Match of the Indian Premier League this season, Delhi Capitals dictated a convincing win against Punjab Kings by nine wickets. At the beginning of the match with a strong record and cast out Punjab for a meager 115 runs in 20 overs.    

In the comeback, the partnership of David Warner and Prithvi Shaw gave Delhi a flying start. The pair added 81runs on 0 wickets in the first six overs, which also elevated the franchise in the powerplays. Shaw was discharged by Rahul Chahar on 41 runs off 20 balls. After Prithvi’s run out, Warner and Sarfaraz Khan guided the side with 57 balls to spare. 

The scare looms on Delhi Capitals of Covid-19 that had first threatened and then draw up the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League and later strained the second half of the tournament that has been shifted to the UAE three months later and drifted critically once again. Initially, in the evening Mayank Agarwal, Shikhar Dhawan, and the in-form batter Liam Livingstone broke down to supply Punjab with a good start and were discharged inside the powerplay overs. Jonny Bairstow also failed not to do much for the team. Jitesh Sharma along with Shahrukh paired a small partnership before they got trapped by Axar Patel. 

In the company of Delhi Capital bowlers, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, Khaleel Ahmed, and Lalit Yadav sculpted two wickets each. 

In the final overs, David Warner and Sarfaraz Khan took Delhi Capitals home. Throughout the match, they gave a target of the 116-run chase in just 10.2 overs and win the contest by 9 wickets. This is the biggest win recorded by Delhi Capitals as they touched the 100-run mark in just 9 overs.
