Centre Probably Provide Consent On Reopening Of Schools Soon

Offline classes have remained shut since the covid-19 outbreak. The central government will probably issue an advisory soon on the reopening of schools as the vaccination drive against covid-19 for children aged 15 is gathering pace. Union health minister Mansukh Manadaviya has asked the National Expert Group to suggest ways on reopening the schools.

One of the people said that, “Covid-19 has affected children of all age groups. However, the mortality rate and severity of diseases in children return to schools.”

Offline classes have mostly remained shut since the covid-19 outbreak in March 2020; some states are opening it partially amid widespread among parents to send their unvaccinated kids to school. The centre wants to reopen the schools in staggered manner after the covid vaccination drive was opened up for childrens aged 15 amid the emergency of highly infected Omicron variant.

According to the source,“However, it will be up to states to decide whether they are ready to open schools or not.”

India rolled out its vaccination for healthcare workers on January 16, 2021, gradually opening up for all adults. The next phase of vaccination in the age group of 15-18 years started from January 3, 2022, a week before additional precaution doses for healthcare workers at the age risk groups kicked off. More than one crore covid booster doses have been administered so far.

Mandaviya said on Thursday that, About 90% of the population has been administered with the first dose of covid-19. As of Friday morning, India’s increasing vaccine has crossed the 164.44 Crore mark.
