According to official broadcaster CCTV, Dongxing city in the autonomous Chinese region of Guangxi, which has a population of more than 200,000, has ordered all citizens to stay at home starting Wednesday and avoid venturing out unnecessarily. During routine testing, Dongxing discovered one domestically transmitted infection with proven symptoms, prompting the actions. As per CCTV, the city has also suspended public transportation, closed all tourism sites, cinemas, and other entertainment facilities, and reduced face-to-face school lessons at elementary and middle schools, as well as kindergartens.

As part of the city’s virus control effort, the clearing of passengers and goods has been postponed from Tuesday. Exports and imports of urgent goods should be well-planned to avoid losses due to delays, according to CCTV.
