WhatsApp rolls out its new feature of previewing your audio messages

WhatsApp has introduced the new feature of previewing your voice messages before sending them to your contacts. The feature provides you with the access to keep a check on your voice message and see if the audio you are sharing with your contacts is fine or you need to make changes in the same. The updated version of the WhatsApp voice feature works on both individuals and group chats. Updated WhatsApp group feature has been made available to all Android and iOS users as well as for the web and desktops.

The voice message preview feature can be used by touching the microphone button in a WhatsApp chat and further sliding it up to lock hands-free recording. The feature will introduce the users to an interface where they can see a stop button and a trash can. By tapping the stop button and activating the play button to listen to the voice message users will be able to make their changes in the audio before sharing it with others. The feature also helps you move to a particular part of the audio by tapping on the seek bar.

“Voice Messages are one of the most popular features for WhatsApp users worldwide,” the company said in a statement.

“They bring you closer to friends and family than a text message and unlike a call, give you the freedom to message — and for them to listen — when it is most convenient,” it added.

With this new preview feature, the user’s WhatsApp journey would be made quite easy if they prefer sending voice messages over their text version on WhatsApp. For the last few months, WhatsApp has been taking a few measures in improving the voice message experience on its platform. It was also spotted testing features including a global voice message player and transcription of voice messages.
