Must read

With the Pandemic engulfing us, we were forced to adopt a new lifestyle. From ‘Work from Home’ to ‘Online Classes’ a lot has changed in our day to day life. With the initiative ‘Digital India’, the country has seen a massive transformation. Today, we are technologically dependent on literally every aspect. From paying our groceries bill to transferring money to our near and dear ones, we use digital instruments in everything. Social Media too has become an important digital tool for messaging, for connectivity and for putting forth our views and opinions on different subjects.

However, one cannot overlook the fact that there is a bridging gap between people when it comes to use of technologies. Young, educated people are pro when it comes to handling technology while there is a vast population of citizens who are not habituated in using these modern tools. Language difficulties, proper understanding of digital space and risk of privacy are some of the aspects which prevent them from exploring the vast potential of Digital space which can be used to make our lives easier.

Hailing from a small village of Jodhpur District in Rajasthan, Rahul Rathi, a 19-year-old boy has utilized his knowledge of Digital Space to serve humanity for a noble cause. He has become an inspiration in digital resources for the thousands of people surrounding him. He also helps several departments of the state government to explore the ever-evolving, vast digital ecosystem of e-governance.

Being a student himself, he is assisting all government schools in his region in maintaining and managing ‘Shala Darpan’, a dynamic database management platform created for keeping information and records about all government schools and education offices online, abolishing the old traditional way of doing it on a register. He also guides school-going students in filling out registration forms for their Board Examinations which is truly commendable.

Commenting on his work, Rahul says “I was surprised and shocked after I came to know that the dropout rate in government run schools is significantly higher than the enrolment rate. This is what made me feel that someone has to spread awareness on the importance of Education and so I travel to remote villages throughout the entire state of Rajasthan to talk to parents and kids encouraging them to take up Education.”

His passion for bringing a change in society is the reason he doesn’t feel tired.  He was devoting his time and knowledge even during the Covid Pandemic by assisting thousands of poor people in self-registering at the Co-Win portal and assisting them in getting vaccinated.

Rahul also has an access to a Facebook-approved portal through which he prevents online frauds, banking thefts, data piracy and account hacking. He offers his services pro bono to common citizens as well as known politicians of Rajasthan.

This young lad is also a web-designer and app developer who has been credited for designing multiple websites for several social organizations. He also serves as IT professional for several prominent personalities and acts as a political advisor for a bunch of political figures. Rahul Rathi is surely an inspiration for the youths of this great nation.
