Covid Live Updates: India recorded 38,353 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday, up from 28,204 infections the day before, according to data given by the Union health ministry at 8 a.m. The daily death toll also increased, with 497 people succumbing to the disease each day.

With the addition of the additional instances, India’s total number of cases now stands at 32,036,511. The total number of open cases fell to 386,351, the lowest level in 140 days.

Since the start of the pandemic, 31,220,981 people have recovered from Covid-19, with 855,543 recovering in the last 24 hours. The rate of recovery has increased to 97.45%.

Up to August 10, a total of 485,056,507 samples were evaluated, with 1,777,962 samples were tested yesterday, according to the Indian Council of Medical Research.

The Central Government announced on Tuesday that average daily new cases of Covid-19 have been climbing in 37 districts across the country over the last two weeks, despite the national figure dropping.

The reproduction number, or R number, which reflects the rate at which Covid-19 is spreading, is greater than one in five states, according to health ministry experts, who added that this is “a matter for concern.” Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh are the five states.

An R-value of one or less is deemed safe, as it indicates that 100 persons infect the same number of others or fewer. This indicates that the number of new infections is not more than the number of infections that are already present.

Meanwhile, as of Tuesday, approximately 520 million vaccine shots had been administered to the beneficiaries. According to the government’s 7 p.m. provisional report, more than 3.7 million (37,76,765) dosages were provided during the day.
