Covid Live Updates: According to data published on Thursday by the Union Health Ministry, India added 42,982 new coronavirus infections in a single day, bringing the overall number of COVID-19 cases to 3,18,12,114 and the number of active cases to 4,11,076, bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases to 3,18,12,114. With 533 more deaths, the death toll has risen to 4,26,290.
Maharashtra Chief Minister (CM) Uddhav Thackeray has pleaded for caution, citing growing resentment among restaurant owners and shops in places where the Maharashtra government has not loosened the lockdown. So far, 10,71,95,973 people have been vaccinated in India, accounting for 11.40 per cent of the adult population and 7.87 per cent of the entire population.
