According to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India has 114,460 new cases of coronavirus illness (Covid-19) on Sunday. In the last two months, there have been the fewest cases reported. The total number of Covid-19 cases registered on April 5 was 96,982, with 1,15,736 more cases reported the next day.
With Sunday’s tally, the country’s total infection cases had risen to 28,809,339, and the death toll had risen to 346,759 after 2,677 individuals died in 24 hours as a result of the virus.
Since Saturday, the country has seen a drop in the number of new infections of over 6,000 and a drop in the death toll of over 700 as it recovers from the catastrophic second wave of the pandemic. The previous day’s total number of tests was 2,036,311 compared to Saturday’s 2,084,421.

For the 24th straight day, daily recoveries continue to outweigh daily new infections. Since the pandemic began in March of last year, about 27 million people in India have recovered from Covid-19. According to the data, India has done over 36.4 crore tests in total.
Meanwhile, according to the data, India has vaccinated 23,13,22,417 people thus far, with 33,53,539 people receiving their shots in the last 24 hours.
