The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) cancelled Board exams for Class 12 on Tuesday, ending months of speculation. The decision, which reached a review meeting headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, came as a huge relief to Class 12 students who had been pleading on social media for the exams to be cancelled in the wake of the country’s second Covid-19 outbreak. The news was greeted positively throughout the political spectrum, with many applauding the government for prioritising the health of students.
